Assembling Skybox Mounting Hardware – Yakima Racks

Hi,

This FAQ will try and help show ow to assemble the Skybox/Showcase crossbar mounting hardware in case it gets disassembled:

Here is a list of part names with the color of the arrow that points at them in the photo below:

Blue Arrow: Plastic Cam

Purple Arrow: Tension bolt and thumb wheel

Green Arrow: Track thumb wheel

Orange Arrow: Large barrel nut (no threads)

Yellow Arrow: Small barrel nut

Red Arrow: Cam Bearing Hardware

Here is a picture showing all the parts used in the mounting hardware:

Here is a picture of the top of the unit, showing:

Purple Tension bolt and thumb wheel

Orange Large Barrel nut

Blue Cam mechanism

and Red Cam Bearing Hardware

The purple tension rod goes through the hole in the red cam bearing hardware, connecting into the yellow short barrel nut in the claw mechanism
