Installing your Yakima hitch bike rack is quick and easy, but the installation steps vary by model.
Before you begin, make sure:
- Your hitch receiver matches the size required for your rack (1¼" or 2").
- Your hitch has the required weight capacity for your rack and bikes.
- You have all of the parts included with your hitch bike rack.
Next, find the installation instructions for your specific rack and follow the steps provided.
After Installation
Before loading your bikes, make sure:
- The hitch bike rack is fully installed according to the instructions.
- Any hitch bolt, SpeedKnob™, or other tightening mechanism is fully secured.
- The hitch pin or locking hitch pin is installed, if required for your model.
- The rack is secure before driving.
